FEED THE NEED IN DURHAM
Submitted By Matt Ledger on Thursday, December 14, 2017
Help the WRA help those in need.

We are closing in on the end of 2017 — and creeping up on an exciting new year.

I’m sure we’ve all been generous over the holidays…but we need to remember that FEED THE NEED IN DURHAM will need to restock their food banks after the holidays.  These food banks are still working away after the holidays fade

In support of FEED THE NEED IN DURHAM, the WRA is collecting donations of non-perishable food items and monetary donations as well.  Every $1 raised allows Feed the Need in Durham to distribute $6 worth of food.  Every food item raised helps them to reach over 6500 people in need across the Region each month.

Top 5 most needed items: Canned fruits, canned vegetables, tuna, peanut butter, and Mac and cheese

Monetary donations can be made online at the following link.  Please print off a copy of your online donation receipt and provide to your team ambassadors so your donation can be included in your teams total.

Charitable tax receipts will be issued for donations of $10.00 or more if requested.

If donating by cash or cheque and you would like a tax receipt, please complete your teams tracking sheet that your coaches will have.

WRA would like to make this a friendly competation to see which team will have the most points from the food drive.

Every non-perishable food item is 1 point and every $1 donation will count as 3 points towards your team.  (if a team collects 100 non-perishable food items and $20 in donations, their team will have 160 points.)

There will be a prize for the top team.

We ask that each team select one or two players to be their "team ambassadors”. The ambassador(s) will aide in collecting the food items, provide a count on both food items and monetary donations, and make arrangements to drop the items off to myself.

The food drive will run until Wednesday January 10, 2018.

As always - we thank our generous WRA families for their continued support.
